Now, most of you don't know who he is. Fabien Barthez is a very decorated French Goal Keeper who played for Manchester United. He won the World Cup in 1998.

In the final, he deftly defended the net against Ronaldo's strikes fo give France their first WC win 3-1 (going from memory here)

He is racing LeMans this weekend for a Ferrari GT-Amateur class, Team SOFREV. It will be his first leMans !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!

You know, I thought this was a prank at first . . . because I actually know who he is/was. Gotta say I'm impressed.

I was casually reading the entrants and I saw the name.. I had to google to make sure it was the same Barthez I remember... I hate Man U (always have... Arsenal fan) but I loved Barthez

Funny, I was actually a much larger Peter Schmeichel fan as Keeper is the *only* position I play on the pitch.

Barthez had one of the best/funniest/truthful celebrations when he grabbed his shorts, hiked them up and started "pee-pee-dancing" after France got up 3-1. He knew they were winning the WC.
